Read on for our Minimalist Manifesto, and for ideas on how to simplify your home.

The Alameda County market slowed with a 6.1% sales drop in this week's report. However, overall sales numbers for the last 30 days remained above the monthly average (1,188.6) with 1,360 homes sold. Meanwhile, Santa Clara County reported 1,306 home sales, the highest number from all the surrounding counties. The median sales price dropped to $720,000, down from last week's $725,000. Despite the slip in sales, a relatively low one month of inventory indicates that Alameda County is a strong seller's market.

Foreign buyers flood US real estate, but buy cheaper homes

The appetite for U.S. real estate continues to flourish, but international buyers are shifting their sights from luxury to less-pricey properties. This may be due to overall higher home prices, along with a stronger U.S. dollar, which both cost foreign buyers more at the negotiating table. There are also fewer nonresident foreigners investing in the market.
